We heard the hype.
We listened.
We came to the Balboa Bar and Grill.

The California Burgito

Cute little place. 6 tables. Jam packed. We stood near the bar, waiting...Hoping for a spot to eat. We decided we would stand and eat off the bannister if we had to.

We were in luck, as the nice girl sitting at a table actually was waiting for a spot at the bar, and we were granted a table. Awesome.

I ordered the Balboa Burger (lettuce, onions, tomatoes, cheese and aioli) and an iced tea.
The iced tea is respectable.
Nadine ordered the California Burgito (avocado, French fries (wtf), mozzarella cheese, and salsa) with a sparkling water.
We got an order of garlic fries too.
Minutes after we ordered, we started smelling garlic. Heavenly.
The food arrived and I am not mad at my burger at all. The buns are ridiculously soft.
Nadine says, “This is a worthy burger.”
She finished her burger. She’s mad now. I may have to get her another one.
The outer appearance is unassuming. It’s a fun place on the inside. A bit noisy, but it’s a good noise. Friends from the neighborhood and beyond, sharing great meals and good times.
These days, this is a sound I need in my life, considering world events.
Think Globally, eat at the Balboa. We did, and we’ll be back.
The claim is that the Balboa Bar and Grill has the best Burger in San Diego.
I’m in no position to argue the point.
