Shake Shack, 675 Camino De La Reina, San Diego, California 92108 October 12, 2018
We were in Mission Valley and dropped in to Shake Shack.
It has the look of a chain, and it is a chain restaurant, but they’re new to Southern California, so why not?
Clean place, a lot of wood, natural like. Clean, sustainable and ethically grown food is served here.
Points gained.
The Iced Tea isn’t Iced Tea.
It’s the sweetened kind. Meh
Points lost.
I had the Shack Burger with Cheese, Lettuce, Onions, Pickles and Tomatoes.
Nadine got the Chicken Shack with Bacon, wrapped in Lettuce; No bun.
She liked the Chicken Sandwich a lot. She wanted a burger, but settled for the low cal option.
The Shack Burger is a really good, basic burger.
Not knocking it at all; It’s a really tasty sandwich. Meat cooked perfectly, and the veggies were extremely fresh. Nadine noted the delicious pickles. I must agree.
If you like really fresh, ethically produced, tasty food and you don’t insist on a tight Iced Tea game, give Shake Shack a shot.
My Score: Empty Plates.
(Note: Nadine wants to come back for more research. Gluten free bun, etc.
I also need to research the Shake claims made by this establishment.)
