King's Fish House, 825 Camino de la Reina, San Diego, California 92108 October 13, 2018

It’s Dinner Date Night, and it’s Ladies Choice So we stopped at Kings Fish House, because it’s been here for decades and we’ve never been here.

We rolled up and, in the parking lot, we smelled something wonderful cooking. It could’ve been Kings Fish, but there’s a Fuddruckers and The Habit. Either way, you should come here to sample the parking lot aroma, if nothing else.

We ordered the Oyster Sampler for an appetizer.

The Sampler was very cool. We toured 6 different Pacific and Eastern bays and rivers (see picture).
3 different sauces accompanied the oysters. Horseradish and Cocktail sauce, Habanero Lime Relish and Mignonette, which must mean Delicious in French.
We were impressed.
Bread and Arnold Palmers were kept full. In fact, I had to ask her to stop bringing delicious, warm Sourdough bread with butter.
It’s not the best Arnold Palmer in San Diego. However, the sugar-rimmed glasses were a very nice, unexpected touch.
Nadine ordered the Lemon Nut Crusted Wild Seabass with sautéed Spinach and Grilled Asparagus.
I had the Prime Top Sirloin Steak with Grilled Brussels Sprouts and Garlic Mashed Potatoes;
As noted in earlier reviews, she’s the adventurous one.
Nadine wants to divorce me and marry that Seabass. She says it’s not true, but the looks and sounds of ecstasy coming from that side of the table have made many a man question his relationship. I know it. She did mention the Seabass portion was small. At least I have that going for me.
My steak was Amazing. Delicious.
If I had a gun to my head and had to complain about something, it’d be the potatoes being not quite as hot as I would’ve expected. And no Gravy. Or Butter. Or something.
That said, the potatoes were delicious.
The Grilled Brussels Sprouts had a Ginger taste. Very unexpected; Very welcome.
There’s a full bar and even a guy shucking oysters.
Also, in the bar, you get to choose from around 100 different hot sauces.
The menu gets printed daily, with the catch of that day. Everything is very fresh.
If you like bottomless Arnold Palmers and lots of Bread and don’t mind warm potatoes, get to Kings Fish House.
Our Score: Clean Plates.
