The Mission 1250 J Street, San Diego October 9, 2018

It’s 11:15 and we’re Downtown-ish, so we dropped in to The Mission (1250 J Street) for foods.
We’ve been to the Mission in North Park, so I knew what I wanted: the Mission Croissant (Eggs, Jack Cheese, Cream Cheese, Tomatoes and Scallions in a Delicious Croissant.)
Nadine is more adventurous, so she went with the Zen Breakfast (Egg whites, Tofu, Avocado instead of Brown Rice and zucchini.
The server was happy to accommodate dietary needs and substitutions.

The coffee is Coffee.
Nadine said the Green tea is delightful, as Green Tea should be.
The server brought us Icewater. Nice touch. They must have a huge water bill, all in the name of good service.
We Salute and Thank You, Mission!
While waiting for the foods, we noticed a lot of cool little pieces of art everywhere. It’s a homey/artsy place.
The food arrived quicker than I expected.
Points gained.
*The table falls silent.*
The Mission Croissant is Amazing. The rest of the menu is ruined for me. Perfectly cooked eggs, Croissant toasted just right, and the combination of cheeses makes a perfect storm of flavor in my food hole. I cannot resist it. The fresh fruit is literally FRESH FRUIT. I swear they have a garden and picked this fruit this morning! That said, I’m not a Honeydew Melon fan and there was a lot of it, while Bananas were sadly underrepresented. And 1/2 of 1 Strawberry. Seriously? We now know where the money for the water bill comes from.
I call for Affirmative Fruit Action Now!
Nadine learned to like the Zen Breakfast. She says the Zucchini could’ve used Cheese.
The coffee cup never reached 1/2 full, and I’m tweaking now.
If you like Eggs, Cheese,Croissants and Heaven in your food port, drop by The Mission. The food is good.
My Score: Clean Plates
