Pier Market Seafood Restaurant Pier 39, Suite 103, San Francisco, California 94133 October 19, 2018

We’re doing tourist-y things today around Fisherman’s Wharf, and we wanted seafood, so we dropped in to Pier Market.
First thing:
The hostess has zero personality.
Second thing: The music was too loud, unrecognizable, generic Jazz-like Muzak. Very annoying.
We sat down and the server brought us our drinks.
She had the Club Soda with Lime.
I had Iced Tea. It was respectable.
The server was accommodating, but balked ever so slightly when Nadine asked for her sandwich to be lettuce wrapped and Cole Slaw instead of French Fries.
Anyway, we both went for the Crab and Shrimp Sandwich; Hers was Lettuce wrapped and Cole Slawed.
Bread and Butter was brought out to munch while waiting.
The Bread was cold.
I still ate it. Because Sourdough.
My sandwich was delicious, although I must admit it wasn’t what I was expecting.
I honestly thought it was a hot sandwich, not unlike a Lobster Roll.
That said, the Crab and Shrimp Sandwich did not disappoint. Much. There were a lot of non shrimp or crab ingredients.
The Bread, however, was amazing. Soft and buttery Brioche-like roll.
Nadine enjoyed her Lettuce wrapped sandwich quite a bit. She even finished my shrimp/crab so I could concentrate on the delicious Bread.
The Cole Slaw was very good. It’s hard to find a good Cole Slaw, and it’s here. It has a Horseradish undertone that is surprising and familiar at once.
If you like Seafood in a fast paced, almost crowded Restaurant and if you love Bread, and don’t want to converse with the Hostess more than “Just 2, please”, check out Pier Market Seafood Restaurant.
Our score, 4/5 Clean Plates.
