Cali 'O' Burgers, 1290 University Ave, San Diego, California 92103 September 20, 2018

We were both hungry after work and we’ve been here before, so we dropped in.
It’s a small place, with 5 tables and 6 bar stools.
But no bar.
...
What is this? A cruel joke?!
RUDE.
Anyway,
I ordered a La Jolla Burger (Bacon, Swiss Cheese Mushrooms and stuff)
I got the combo (drink and fries)
I asked for Garlic Fries, only because I felt bad for the guy reading off all of the varieties. He was getting winded. And hey, Garlic! amirite? but there’s like 25 different kinds.
Nadine ordered a Santa Rosa (Bacon, Serrano’s, Anaheim’s, Smoked Gouda, Grilled Onions and wrapped in Lettuce.)
1. This burger is delicious. The wife loved hers, too.
2. The burgers are damn messy.
Don’t wear your good shirt.
The upside is that that they seem to have bottomless napkin dispensers.

NOTE TO SELF:
Trademark the term: “Bottomless Napkin Dispensers”.
NOTE TO SELF #2:
Name the band “Bottomless Napkin Dispensers”
If you feel adventurous, try the Ostrich, Bison and/or Elk burgers.
I am not personally adventurous, my wife tells me, but feel free to check out the various fauna cooked up here.
If you like a small, intimate place where you can watch the burgers frying, being confused by a plethora of French Fry choices, and burgers made from animals you can see at the Zoo, give Cali “O” Burgers a try.
My Score: Clean Plate.
