Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant, Mission Valley, San Diego September 29, 2018

We were in Mission Valley and had the hungers.
We dropped in to Gordon Biersch to push foods in.
Nice looking place.
No “Bar Smell” was detected. Points earned.
The Iced Tea was respectful, however it was only refilled after the meals were finished.
I ordered the Kobe Cheeseburger with Delicious Garlic Fries.
It wasn’t a bad burger, per se. It just got upstaged by the Delicious Garlic Fries. It was a regular burger with a fancy name, as far as I can tell. That shouldn’t happen.
Also, No Mayo. No mention of Mayonnaise. I’m supposed to eat this burger DRY?!
#RUDE
We had to flag down a rogue server to grab some Mayo for the burger. Time goes by. I eat most of the Delicious Garlic Fries while I’m waiting.
When the burger got there, it wasn’t BAD, just not that impressive.
It’s a run-of-the-mill burger.
Kinda dry meat.
Did I mention no Mayo?
Nadine had the Spicy Chicken Lettuce Tacos.
The tacos were not, in fact, spicy.
The presentation was great, as the pictures will show.
The chicken was good.
The sides were, in Nadine’s words, “Tasteless and Listless”.
Nadine is not impressed.
Also, the new name for the band is:“Tastless and Listless”.
Bottom line, we’re not that impressed.
I think maybe it’s more of a bar/nightclub than a restaurant. Maybe there’s something special that happens here at night.
If you like hunting the elusive Mayo in its natural habitat, or if you like to get an Iced Tea refill after the meal, give Gordon Biersch a try.
My Score: 3/4 Clean plates.
